Gameplay Basics
Rhythm Wave is a music game where notes fall from the top of the
screen in time with your music. Press the corresponding keys when
the notes reach the target zone to score points!
The game creates a custom rhythm pattern from your uploaded song,
so every song creates a unique gameplay experience.
Controls
You can use two different control schemes:
-
Primary: D, F, J, K keys for the four lanes
- Alternative: A, S, L, ; keys
You can also tap or click directly on the lanes if you're using a
touch device.
Tip: On mobile devices, turn your device to landscape mode for the
best experience.
Scoring System
Your timing determines the score for each note:
-
PERFECT! - Hit the note with precise timing
- GOOD! - Hit the note with good timing
-
OKAY - Hit the note, but timing could be better
- MISS - Failed to hit the note in time
Build up combos by hitting consecutive notes without missing.
Higher combos give you score multipliers:
- 10+ combo: 2x multiplier
- 20+ combo: 3x multiplier
- 30+ combo: 4x multiplier
Settings & Calibration
If notes don't seem to match the beat of your song, adjust these
settings:
-
Audio-Visual Sync: Adjust the timing between
the music and note positions (-500ms to +500ms)
-
Hit Window Size: Make the timing window larger
or smaller to adjust difficulty
-
Note Speed: Change how fast the notes fall down
the screen
Tip: If notes aren't syncing with your music, try a negative
Audio-Visual Sync value to make notes appear earlier, or a
positive value to delay them.
Game Modes
-
Casual: Relaxed mode with fewer notes and more
forgiving timing
-
Normal: Balanced gameplay with moderate
difficulty
-
Expert: Challenging mode with more notes and
stricter timing
